The Los Angeles Dodgers play a final exhibition game in South Korea early Monday morning (Pacific time) and later in the week start their 2024 schedule by facing the San Diego Padres in the Seoul Series.

The first leg of the MLB World Tour is taking place at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, South Korea, from March 20-21. Additional international games scheduled for this season include the Mexico City Series and London Series.

However, the Seoul Series has drawn more interest than normal due to both the Dodgers’ global brand and offseason additions of Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Meanwhile, the Padres roster features South Korean natives Ha-Seong Kim and Woo-Suk Go.

Seoul Series tickets were only sold through select partners, with prices skyrocketing as of late, per Jenny Seung Min Lee and Whanwoong Choi of Bloomberg:

Want to see Shohei Ohtani’s debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers in Seoul next week? It could cost you more than 4 million won ($3,035) — five times face value — plus land you with an unusual seatmate.

Tickets have been sold out through official platforms since the end of January, with limited avenues to obtain admission.

Padres season ticket holders were given exclusive options, working in collaboration with MLB to release a number of member-only opportunities in February. Buyers were limited to two tickets per account in another effort to curb scalpers.

What to expect from Dodgers in Seoul Series

The Dodgers have lined up Tyler Glasnow and Yamamoto to start the Seoul Series games, making L.A. the favorites from a pitching standpoint. However, neither is expected to go more than five innings.

Mookie Betts, Ohtani and Freddie Freeman are aligned to be the big three in the Dodgers lineup, all of which got off to blazing starts in Spring Training during Cactus League play.
