Dolphins continue to show their tunnel vision in one area with addition of Odell Beckham, Jr.
Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins added to their wide receiver group last week in the draft with a pair of Washingtons in Malik and Tahj.  It appears they weren't done adding to that group.

The Dolphins reportedly reached an agreement on Friday with free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr.

I really don't get this move particularly now.  Yes, the Dolphins previously met with Beckham in Miami and offered him a contract.  However, that was before they Dolphins went out and spent two draft picks on the position last week.  The Dolphins appear to have a potential WR3 in Malik Washington, their fifth-round draft pick out of Virginia.  He has the speed, hands, and route running to potentially fill that role.  If he isn't going to be that guy, then why'd they spend the pick on him and Tahj?

Further, this team needs to spend every last remaining dollar on getting better on both sides of the line of scrimmage.  This team still has major questions among both groups.  Right now, there's a legitimate possibility that either Robert Jones or Liam Eichenberg are going to start at right guard unless something else happens.  I'm not entirely sure Isaiah Wynn is the answer at left guard either.  That's also to say nothing about the collection of question marks on the defensive line they compiled this offseason.

It pretty much looks like Chris Grier is playing Madden and trying to collect the elite cards at all the offensive skill positions.  Unfortunately, as the team has seen over the last two seasons, that doesn't amount to squat if you can't hold your own on both sides of the lines of scrimmage.  And this team just isn't good enough right now to do so.

Simply baffling.
