Police conclude investigation into Michael Irvin’s allegation, no charges to be filed
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Michael Irvin has dodged a bullet, as the legendary Hall of Fame wide receiver has been acquitted of facing criminal charges in a mysterious matter.

The Texas police closed an investigation into the wideout over an ‘unspecified’ allegation made against him. It appears that neither the allegation nor the details of the investigation will ever see the light of day.

As per Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News, the investigation was closed “weeks ago.” The former Dallas Cowboys‘ wideout’s attorney had dismissed the allegations against him and confirmed to Pro Football Talk that there was “absolutely no truth” to these claims as Irvin had not done anything wrong or inappropriate.

It has been a rough stretch for Michael Irvin, who has found himself at the end of numerous legal battles. He was stripped of covering the Super Bowl after allegations of s*xual misconduct were levied against him in 2022. He then fought the allegations and returned to the NFL Network to kick off the 2023 season.

Michael Irvin has managed to fend off all lawsuits against him

The wideout then ended up filing a $100 million lawsuit against Marriot and six other parties for defamation and tortious interference in a business relationship after the female employee’s accusations against him for making lewd and inappropriate comments were proven to have no merit to them.

The matter was settled between the parties, and the terms were kept under wraps. Recently, Michael Irvin was let go by the NFL Network as part of the broadcast operations bid to cut operating costs. He was one of many key analysts who let go.

He worked with the network for 15 years, having begun his affiliation with them in 2009. He will continue to feature on FOX Sports’ Undisputed on FS1 show alongside Skip Bayless and Keyshawn Johnson.

Michael Irvin is renowned for being one of the most outspoken ex-players and fans of the Dallas Cowboys. He played for 12 years, winning three Super Bowls with them in 1993, 1996, and 1994. During his career, he caught 750 receptions for 11,904 yards and 65 touchdowns, establishing himself as one of the most successful wide receivers for the team.
