Alessandro Buongiorno will be in high demand in the summer and he wouldn’t shy away from the challenge of moving to England should the opportunity present itself. He addressed his future in an interview with SportMediaset.

“The Premier League is particularly enticing to me because there are very strong teams and players to continue to work and grow with. However, I’m comfortable in Italy too, so we’ll see what choice to make.”

Buongiorno is eager to help Italy.

“For sure, I’d like to be called up for the Euro and maybe win it. However, my dream in general is to take home the Champions League or the World Cup.”

Buongiorno showed remarkable attachment to Torino in the past.

“Being their captain is a major source of pride because representing my team and being a reference point for the others is a very big emotion. I try to give my best every time I play and I’m very happy where I am for that.

The defender singled out Romelu Lukaku among the players he has faced so far.

“He’s massive physically, so you have to forestall him and have the right reads.”

Our Take on Buongiorno

His fee won’t get to Gargantuan levels like other defenders’ ones in recent windows, but if Torino managed to stoke a bidding war and get his price tag to €40/50M, it’d be tough for any Serie A team to win the race. Napoli need somebody like him the most, but they won’t play in the cups.
