'Very strange week,' Felix Auger-Aliassime sends his wishes to Jiri Lehecka and other colleagues who are struggling with injury on the tour

Canadian tennis star Felix Auger-Aliassime is worried about the frequent injuries to his colleagues on the tour. The 23-year-old also sent his wishes to these players who are battling injuries and are in the rehabilitation process. Auger-Aliassime wished his opponent in the semifinal of the Madrid Open, Jiri Lehecka , and his other colleagues a speedy recovery.

As Lehecka retired midway through his match against the Canadia, Aliassime was surprised to see so many players getting injured. He then shared a message for all of those players on his social media. The 23-year-old said that it was a strange week for him with so many players retiring midway through their matches.

Aliassime then said that his thoughts go with all those players including Lehecka. He then hoped for them to regain match fitness and be back on the tour on time.

Very strange week full of unique circumstances but for now all my thoughts go to Jiri and everyone else currently struggling with injury I know everyone will be back in due time. All I can do is focus on the battle ahead Felix Auger-Aliassime posted on X.

Felix Auger-Aliassime reaches Madrid Open final, thanks to these injuries!

Felix Auger-Aliassime reached the final of the Madrid Open as Jiri Lehecka retired during his semifinal match due to a lower back injury. This was the third such match where Auger-Aliassime moved to the next round because his opponent could not finish the match.

The Canadian got help from Jakub Mensik’s injury in the third round. Meanwhile, he reached the semifinal as Jannik Sinner pulled out of the Madrid Open with a hip injury before his quarterfinal match. Now, Auger-Aliassime has reached the final after his opponents retired in the semifinal. The 23-year-old talked about this in his interview.

Nevertheless, now that he has reached the final, the Canadian will be focused on winning the match and lifting his maiden Masters title. Auger-Aliassime has also not won a title since the Basel International in 2023. In the 2024 season, the Canadian has a 15-10 win-loss record . It is to be seen if he can pull off a win against Andrey Rublev in the final.
